QwaQwa

QwaQwa was a tribal homeland in the eastern region of Republic of South Africa from 1974 until 1994.[1] The region was set aside for Sesotho-speaking people and granted nominal self-government in 1974.

QwaQwa had no Defence Force, but the QwaQwa Police Force was established in 1983. Current research reflects that no camouflage pattern was ever adopted by or selected for use by the QwaQwa Police.

Notes

  1. The African Homeland, or bantustan, was a territory specifically set aside for black Africans of a specific ethnic or tribal group during the apartheid era.
