The Republic of Maldives (ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ) is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) were formed in 2006 after the National Security Service was divided into branches for domestic law enforcement (Maldives Police Service) and national defence. The MNDF is somewhat unique in having the following primary branches: Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Special Forces, and the Service Corps.

* The MNDF wear a [[leaf]] camouflage pattern similar to some produced in Thailand, having black, brown & olive green leaf shapes on a pale green background.

* A variation of this pattern having a blue colorway is worn by the Emergency Reponse Team of the National Police Service.
